What is Perfumind?
Perfumind is an all-in-one fragrance platform. It combines a searchable database of perfumes and ingredients, AI-powered discovery tools (semantic note search, AI recommendations), and personal organisation features like a wardrobe tracker, perfume diary, bottle inventory, and a wishlist.
Is Perfumind free to use?
Yes, the core database and exploration features are completely free. Premium features such as bottle inventory management, advanced diary tools and more limits on AI tool usage require a Pro subscription.
How does the AI Alternative Finder work?
Pick a perfume you already like, and the Alternative Finder analyses its note pyramid and accord profile, then uses semantic similarity to surface perfumes with a comparable scent character. This is unlike the Perfumind Assistant, which starts from your own written description instead of an existing perfume. It's ideal for finding budget-friendly alternatives or exploring new houses.
What AI models does Perfumind use?
AI features are powered by OpenAI's language models, accessed through OpenRouter. This includes the semantic search, AI recommendations, and perfume detail generations by discovery mode.
How accurate is the fragrance data?
The database is compiled from information sourced from reputable perfume resources and combined with AI-generated content, and is updated by the Perfumind team. Users can submit correction suggestions via the feedback button on any perfume page; each suggestion is reviewed immediately, and necessary changes are made.
Can I make my wardrobe public?
Yes. Your wardrobe and diary are private by default. You can choose to make your profile public so other fragrance enthusiasts can see your collections.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time from Settings → Plans. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees, no questions asked.
Who handles payments?
Payments are processed by Polar, who act as the Merchant of Record. Polar handles all billing, sales tax calculation, and invoicing globally. Perfumind never sees or stores your card details.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Perfumind is hosted on its own server, which is a dedicated VPS that uses TLS encryption and the Cloudflare tunnel during data transmission. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
Can I export my data?
You can request a copy of your data by contacting us. We'll respond within a few business days.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Use the Feedback page to submit bug reports, feature requests, or general suggestions. Every submission is read and taken seriously.
What does the camera search icon do?
Tap the camera icon in search and photograph a bottle. If it's already catalogued, you land straight on its page. If it's new, the brand and name are pre-filled into AI Discovery so you can add it in one step.
What is the Perfumind Assistant?
It's a chat assistant built into Perfumind. Describe what you're after in plain language (a mood, an occasion, or something like "a cozy vanilla scent for winter") and it searches the catalog by filter or by scent similarity and pulls up full perfume details. For signed-in users, it can also reason over your own wardrobe, wear diary, and taste profile, so recommendations are grounded in what you actually own and like rather than a generic guess, and it can kick off AI Discovery for a perfume it can't find yet.
What does the Layering Lab do?
Pick two or three perfumes and Perfumind instantly scores how well they layer (family harmony, balance, performance sync, and dry-down interaction), then an AI writes a full report: a name for the blend, how the notes evolve together over time, and a concrete pro tip on which one to spray first and in what ratio.
How accurate is the Authenticity Scanner?
Upload photos of the bottle, atomizer, and batch code (plus optional back, side, and top views), and the AI checks glass quality, print precision, atomizer construction, and alignment, then returns a confidence score, category-by-category sub-scores, and any specific red flags it spots. It's a fast, well-informed second opinion, not a certified verdict. Always confirm with an authorized retailer before relying on the result.
How does AI Discovery work?
Enter a brand and perfume name (or let Camera Search fill them in from a photo), and Perfumind's AI researches it, extracts the note pyramid, accords, concentration, and other metadata, and adds a fully-detailed page to the database automatically, usually in under a minute. It's how the catalog keeps growing, and submitting a Discovery request doesn't use any of your AI credits.
